Norm Schoenthal Island

Riverfront Park Master Plan: http://www.billingsparks.org/wp-content/uploads/RFPMP.pdf

Norm Schoenthal Island is Yellowstone River Park Association’s most popular success story. It is made of City and State land within the Riverfront Park complex and is covered by the Riverfront Park Master Plan. Norm’s Island has over two miles of trails and is a popular walking spot, with or without dogs. Flooded annually by the Yellowstone River in the Spring, the island is a good example of floodplain ecology. YRPA has spent several seasons eradicating invasive Russian olive trees on the island to ensure the natural cottonwood succession.
